Supporting Pupils with Allergies & Special Diets

At Derbyshire Catering Service, pupil wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to offer tailored menus that support a wide range of medically diagnosed dietary needs, including the 14 recognised food allergens: cereals containing gluten, celery, crustaceans, dairy, egg, fish, lupin, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, and sulphites.

To ensure every child receives the safest and most suitable meal options, we’ve introduced our Medical Diet Portal — a simple and secure way for parents and guardians to share dietary requirements with us. This allows our expert catering teams to create personalised menus that meet individual needs with confidence and care.

In secondary schools our pre-packaged sandwich and deli items, display a full ingredient list in accordance with Natasha’s Law, that protects people with food allergies, who rely on the transparency of ingredients.

If you or your child are ever unsure about our allergens, please ask a member of the catering team at your school and please ensure your school office is always aware of any allergies.
