Celebrating 120 Years of School Meals in Derbyshire;  A Fantastic Start to Our Anniversary Year

We are proud to be celebrating 120 years of school meals in Derbyshire, marking more than a century of dedication to nourishing children across the county.

Over the years, this much‑loved service has grown and evolved, but one thing has always remained constant: our commitment to providing healthy, hearty meals that support pupils’ wellbeing, learning, and development every day.

 

To kick off this special anniversary year, our catering teams launched a “120 Years” Theme Day, featuring one of children’s all‑time favourites – the Big Breakfast. Schools across Derbyshire embraced the celebration with great enthusiasm, making the day a memorable start to our milestone year.

Despite some delivery challenges caused by snowy weather, the day proved to be a fantastic success. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who adapted, persevered, and worked hard to ensure that pupils did not miss out on the fun.

 

This is just the beginning of our celebrations, and we look forward to continuing to mark this incredible milestone throughout the year.
